Monty is a former prosecutor who used to be a supervisor in the General Trial Unit of the Criminal Division of the San Diego City Attorney’s Office. During his five years as a prosecutor, Monty has taken numerous cases to trial. Monty has tried over 25 jury trials in the City of San Diego and has handled thousands of criminal cases during his time as a prosecutor.

Monty used to work in the following divisions at the City Attorney’s Office: General Trial Unit, Case Issuance Unit, and the Neighborhood Justice Unit.

Monty also used to be a liaison for the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) and worked at the following SDPD divisions: Northern Division, Eastern Division, Traffic Division, Northwestern/Northeastern Division.
